Mind Manipulation: Ancient and Modern Ninja Techniques Reviews
This book was not what I was expecting. I had initially thought this book would teach you how to manipulate anyone in an instant. Instead the book gives you the strategy of a ninja senin with explaining why in the process. Don't get me wrong. The information in this book about the subject is comprehensive and gives lots of anecdotal evidence and examples of different techniques that are used. But if you want this book to teach you the step by step techniques to the last detail of how to perform mind manipulation by one read, this is not the book. Content are just words without context. Tools are useless without a brain. ya de ya da. You get my drift.Obtaining any skill requires studying and practice. There is lots of new information introduced and I would probably need to read it again to receive the full benefit. This book does do a good job of protecting your 'mind castle' from manipulation ploys. The historical information in this book is a welcome surprise and even though it was not exactly what I had anticipated I'll still give it a 5 stars.
It is a quick learning of powerplay in society , if you are not much of a classics reader then it will be a good book, if you have already read Sun Tzu, Machiavelli, Aristotel, Platon, Marcus Aurelius, Shakespeare, Alan Edgar Poe etc ... than this book is the one you have waited for , is the book that gives you an idea about how to bring those ancient/medieval teachings to life and apply them to gain control and achieve your goal.Excellent Book .
This book is for those who want to see past what the pedestrian mind sees. At times it borders on conspiratorial, but in today's age and today's world those conspiracies look more and more like the truths and histories of long past empires that Haha referenced. Incredibly interesting whether you buy into it all or not. I wasn't sure at first but now I am more a believer than not thanks to this book. Highly recommend.
I have been involved in the martial arts most of my life as well as Asian philosophy. I have read and reviewed numerous books on the actual physical techniques and the more esoteric aspects of “the way of the warrior.” I purchased this (Mind Manipulation: Ancient and modern Ninja Techniques by Dr. Ha Ha Lung and Christopher Prowant) book recently and just finished reading it.In any kind of combat there is a connection between the mind, body and spirit in which each must be developed to become a successful warrior. This book is focused on the development of the mindful elements of warfare. This 181 page text is organized into five detailed chapters. Chapter one (Masters of the game) gives on overview of the Asian mind, the ninja mind and other related factors. Chapter two (Understanding the mind) explains how the brain sees, the power of visualization, the power of believing and mastering the mind. Chapter three (Mastering others) covers mind control by the numbers, the five weaknesses, the eight relationships, the nine roles and several other topics. Chapter four (Secrets of Sennin) deals with undermining self-concept and identity, self-concept, the quest for identity, the 10 minds, shadow language and other subjects. The final chapter (The black science) covers the uses of superstition, hypnotism, way of the words-wizards, masterminds and black magicians and mind dancing. There is also a glossary and suggested reading material. This is not the kind of book you can rush through like a novel, but rather a book that needs to be studied in order to master the material. If you are into the martial arts and the art of war you should check out this interesting and informative book.Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Use of the Monadnock Straight baton)
