Soutache & Bead Embroidery Reviews
I just received this book today and read the entire thing in one sitting. I have a large collection of craft books and this is by far the Gold Standard of all craft books!
During a vacation to Maine, I wandered into a gift shop and found the most beautiful jewelry for sale that i have ever seen. The wonderful salesperson let me take my time to wonder over it and I had one of those; "how the heck did she do that?" moments. As it turned out, it was soutache jewelry and I have been dreaming about it ever since. I love combining beading and fibers and have been looking for instructions when I came upon the listing for this book.
Before ordering this book, I had bought
Beautiful book, beautiful photos and beautiful designs! So many unique possibilities!
This is a beautiful book, even if all you're in the mood to do is browse. The instructions are very clear and the photography is first-rate. I do quite a bit of bead embroidery, and after paging through Soutache & Bead Embroidery I am eager to include this new (to me) technique in my creations. I believe that once I've become comfortable with it, soutache will take my work to another, higher level.
This is probably the best starter book you can get! I've seen a few others. The instructions are very easy to understand and concise, and the pictures and projects are both easy and gorgeous. I definitely suggest doing the projects in order because they build up skills and knowledge as you're going along.
