I am so thrilled to have this book in my crochet books collection! I ordered this book because I was looking for afghan patterns that were quick and easy. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this book contains patterns for 52 afghans! That's a lot of patterns at my fingertips! There is a nice mixture of different patterns, ripple, granny square, lacy, panels, swirls (plus more) and there are also a few baby blankets. All very beautifully photographed with full size images and some have closeup images. Even though this edition is 21 years old (1994) most of the afghans look "modern". Some of my afghan pattern books are definitely from my Grandmother's time but this one isn't. Most of the patterns are crocheted using 2 or more strands of worsted weight yarn with a large hook (P, N or Q) and single or double crochet (not all but most that I've examined closely) so I think this book would be good for a beginning crocheter. I can't wait to get finished with the Mile a Minute afghan I'm working so that I can start on one of these. Now to find more time in the day! :-)

Already made one Afghan from this book, and it was beautiful. Being somewhat picky, I was pleasantly surprised how many patterns I like! I've also bought Mile-a-Minute Afghans and Leisure Arts 48-Hour Afghans. Quick and Cozy Afghans is, by far, my favorite.

This book contains a "collection" of patterns gathered from other brochures, etc. It may be because many of the patterns were extremely familiar. Personally, I'm not crazy about these. Most are done in pieces & require assembly. I don't especially care for those. I like a more stretchy cozy pattern. Then most of the ripple patterns have a puffy or popcorn type stitch, a little more advanced, but not impossible. The only thing that makes these quick is the fact that you crochet 2 or more skeins together at a time on many of the patterns.

I love this crochet book it has lots of different designs. Most do require sewing as they are mile a minute. In the whole book I found about ten designs that I want to make. My favorite one is the one shown on the cover it's a mile a minute design holding two strands of yarn together. I may do it in a bulky yarn instead of holding two strands. So far I've only made one blanket out of this book.

Great variety of patterns in this book! Some use single strand; many use two strands as one. Hook sizes range from I to Q with the majority of the patterns falling in the K-P range. These afghans will work up quick and feel thick and warm. Great selection of stripes, blocks, circles, and panels. Looking forward to making several afghans from this book.

Nice patterns, most call for two-three strand work, for exceptionally warm afghans. Photos of designs are dark at times, so it's hard to see some details. Color choices are dated, but keep in mind you can choose your own color pallets. The book arrived in the condition I expected.

I had this book for many years and made almost all the Afghans. All came out beautiful. Instructions very easy to follow. My book was thrown out while I was in the hospital. Someone decide to declutter items I use often!

There are a LOT of patterns in this book so I shouldn't complain, but a lot of the patterns are done in blocks or strips and sown together. I love to crochet but hate to hand sew. Still it was probably worth the price.
